      Registered Nurse Job, Various day shifts with evening rotation plus call, Surgery General

      Powers Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the OR to work Days with rotating Evenings at Community Hospital in Munster, IN.

      The Surgery Department provides care to a wide variety of patients, from the neonate to the critically ill elderly adult, inpatients and outpatients. Our comprehensive surgical care includes, but is not limited to, the following specialties: general surgery, OB/GYN, orthopedic, open heart, cardiovascular, cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, urology, ENT, Retina, and robotic.

      Registered Nurse Roles and Responsibilities:

      • Functions as a member of the surgical team to deliver peri-operative care to surgical patients, neonate through geriatric.
      • Must have the necessary knowledge to prepare and maintain a safe and sterile environment, assess the health needs of the patient, implement and evaluate care for the patient in a manner that supports the Standards of Nursing Care, and perform other related duties as assigned.
      • Provides for the well-being of the community, services the needs of all people and demonstrates the values: dignity, compassionate care, community, quality and stewardship.

      Required Skills & Qualifications:

      • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
      • Current professional licensure by the State of Indiana Health Professions Bureau.
      • BSN preferred.
      • Obtains and maintains current certification as required in specialty areas.
      • Obtains and maintains current CPR.
      • Minimum of one (1) year work experience in the operating room preferred.
