What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Provide expert level review of clinical records within 24-48 hours of admission
- Conduct clear communication to providers to reinforce evidence-based guidelines
- Track productivity and provide accurate/timely reporting of leading indicators
- Provide leadership for overall improvement in clinical documentation
- Educate physicians and other healthcare team members
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license or non-licensed medical school graduate
- 3+ years CDI experience for RNs, 2+ years for medical school graduates
- Experience communicating and working closely with physicians
- Familiarity with medical review documentation process
- Basic proficiency using a PC in a Windows environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- BSN degree
- Current certification as a CCDS, CDIP, or CCS
- 2+ years CDI experience
- Excellent verbal and written skills, including solid organizational skills
