Summary: Provide skilled nursing services in the home environment as directed in the plan of care developed by the Registered Nurse and Physician. The Plan of Care approved by the physician.
Education: Graduate of an accredited R.N. school of nursing.
Licensure: Current RN licensure in the States of Rhode Island. RN licensure in the State of Massachusetts within 30 days of hire. BLS required. Active Driver’s License.
Experience: One to two years of Medical Surgical nursing in an acute care facility. Prefer one to two years of community health experience in a certified home health care agency.
Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements : Requirement to lift 50 lbs. and assist a 200-250 lb. patient, using proper body mechanics. Must demonstrate knowledge of safety precautions. Involves intermittent sitting, standing, walking, and driving motor vehicle. Involves working with frequent interruptions and multiple telephone communications. Requirement to conduct self in tactful, diplomatic manner. Meets all safety requirement associated with the facility. Required to use eyes, hands, fingers with skill in administering therapy and treatments and completing all necessary paperwork. Must follow all Infection Control Policies and Universal Precautions. Regular Staff are required to work the hours for which hired including weekend, holiday, and on-call coverage as established by the Home Care Department. Nurses must meet annual safety training requirements per hospital policy.
