      Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is a 120-bed inpatient psychiatric hospital located in Tacoma, Washington. We are Department of Health and Joint Commission accredited. We are an acute care psychiatric hospital providing care to both voluntary and involuntary patients.

      We are hiring full time Night RN’s to join our inpatient team. These are three 12 hours shifts per week with rotating weekends.

      RN’s promote and restore patients' or clients mental health in a safe and therapeutic environment through direct nursing care to assigned patients within the nursing process; create psychiatric care plans and wrap around services within a medical model; collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; provide physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families; and supervise assigned team members.

      Essential Job Functions:

      • Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand care requirements.
      • Manage medication of patients by ensuring physician orders are implemented, evaluated and documented and by assuring proper administration of medication to each patient. Report any dosages or physician s orders in question to the Nursing Supervisor.
      • Complete and document hourly reassessments.
      • Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
      • Establish and defines standards which ensure safe and therapeutically effective care.
      • Actively participate in Treatment Team Meetings, focusing on the development and review of patient treatment plans.
      • Utilizes motivational interviewing to encourage patients/families.
      • Demonstrate knowledge of de-escalation training and least restrictive methods to manage aggressive behavior.
      • Remains current on evidenced-based practices such as suicide assessment and risk assessment.
      • Promote patient's independence by establishing patient care goals; teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills; answering questions.
      • Assure quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards; measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; making or recommending necessary adjustments; following hospital and nursing division's policies, philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.
      • Resolve patient problems and needs by utilizing multidisciplinary team strategies.
      • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with policies, procedures, rules, and regulation’s; calling for assistance from health care support personnel.
      • Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.
      • Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
      • Maintain continuity among nursing teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
      • Maintain patient confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential and medical records complete and accurate.
      • Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
      • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
      • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
      • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
      • Collaborate with the healthcare team, implementing and documenting individualized plans of care incorporating age specific considerations and nursing interventions, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching.
      • Participate in the hiring, orientation, precepting, evaluation, and/or retention of co-workers.
      • Identify changes in patient conditions and assist with or institutes appropriate actions in a timely manner.
      • Always follow patient safety-related policies, procedures and protocols.
      • Encourage patients and families to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may "not seem right.”
      • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

      We offer competitive pay and benefits:

      • Hourly union scale: $38.75 - $71.84 based on experience
      • Shift differentials: Nights $4.25, Weekends $3.00
      • Great benefits including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Supplemental Life Insurance eligible the first of the month following 30 days of hire.

      • Sign on Bonus: $12,500 payable over one year

      What We Require:

      • Associate degree in nursing, BSN preferred.
      • Current Washington State license without restrictions
      • One year psychiatric nursing experience
      • Candidate should possess strong nursing assessment skills
      • Basic Life Support (BLS) card through American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
