      Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Postpartum. Part-time Night Shift: 2x12 hour shifts per week.

      Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities:

      • Provides skilled, compassionate care and coordinates patient care.

      • Documents patient care activities and assists team members.
      • Evaluates care processes and adjusts plans based on patient progress.
      • Makes clinical decisions based on data, experience, and intuition.
      • Fosters cooperation and respect among clinical disciplines.
      • Guides staff in assessing patient learning needs and outcomes.
      • Serves as a clinical resource, preceptor, and mentor, and supervises patient care activities.
      • Utilizes care delivery standards, integrating communication, technology, and collaboration.
      • Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains Continuing Education Records.
      • Contributes to performance improvement initiatives and evaluates clinical outcomes.

      Registered Nurse (RN) Additional Requirements:

      • Work schedule: Part-time Night Shift: 7:00pm-7:00am, 2x12 hour per week. | 16 hours of call in 6-week period |One major one minor holiday | 4 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
      • Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
      • Experience: Required 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
      • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start | For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months | For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months | For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire
      • Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license

      Registered Nurse (RN) Preferred Qualifications:

      • Candidates who are proficient in Epic and possess two years of recent (within one year) Registered Nurse (RN) experience in an inpatient setting on a Postpartum unit.
