Summary of Need: To provide nursing interventions and medication administration consistent with the established systematic problem-solving approach for the delivery of comprehensive nursing care, which are compliant with the regulatory standards. Execute medical regimens as prescribed by licensed physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, podiatrists, and dentists. Includes advanced practice nurses such as: clinical nurse specialists, certified nurse midwives, and certified registered nurse anesthetists. Advanced practice nursing is practiced by RNs who have specialized formal, post-basic education and who function in highly autonomous and specialized roles.
Job duties include, but are not limited to: - Assist the School Unit with vaccine response activities, including:
- Provider training and quality improvement activities
- Provider support and clinical guidance coordination
- Provider outreach and enrollment
- Provider education and technical assistance
- Conduct school immunization audits
Qualifications: - A Bachelor of Science (BSN) or higher degree in nursing.
- Registered Nurse in New York State.
- Minimum of one (1) or more years' experience in direct clinical work.
- Experience with communicable disease and/or outbreak response and control activities.
- Experience administering vaccines to children, including familiarity with the ACIP vaccination schedules.
- Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize workload.
- Competence with Microsoft Word
- Ability to use web-based computer systems.
- Experience and strong comfort level communicating with health care providers.
- Highly motivated, independent thinker and self-starter.
- Enthusiastic team player.
Shift: Full-Time – Monday to Friday – 8 am to 4 pm.
Contract Length: Up to 2 years
