Job summary
Gate 45b is a 27 bedded respiratory ward that care for patients with complex respiratory conditions and complex discharge plans. Our aim is to deliver a high standard of care to all our respiratory patients by improving patient experience and lowering hospital length of stays for our patients. We ensure patients and families are involved in the decision making wherever possible and are fully supported and well cared for throughout their hospital journey. Gate 45b are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, forward thinking, committed and motivated Registered nurse with excellent communication and motivation skills to join our nursing team. The successful candidate will support the Ward Manager and Sisters along with the multidisciplinary team to provide patient centred evidence based care; maintain high care delivery standards and efficient, safe management of patients within our busy ward.
Main duties of the job
This role will offer the opportunity to 1) To work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team and to provide specialised nursing care for respiratory patients. 2) In consultation with senior staff, the post holder will help plan, co-ordinate, implement, and evaluate care for patients. 3) Maintain standards in accordance with ward /Trust policies and procedures and NMC code of conduct 4) Maintain a safe working environment, being aware of the necessity to comply with Health & Safety regulations and the Environmental Health Act, and to attend mandatory training courses. 5) Maintain safe custody of all drugs and medicines and when trained demonstrate the manipulation, dexterity and co-ordination of IV drugs. 6) To work unsupervised at times, using ward Protocols and Policies.
