      POSITION OVERVIEW:

      Under the general supervision of the Great Falls CLinic Pulmonology Manager and Director,, the Registered Respiratory Therapist provides services to those patients with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system to include diagnostic testing, therapeutics,, support, monitoring, patient assessment and patient education. A physician order is required for such services unless otherwise stated in respiratory care policy. Other services provided or coordinated through the respiratory care department include equipment processing, testing and maintenance, and education. Therapists will work to enhance the overall teamwork and efficiency of the clinic and perform related duties incidental to the work described herein. On call duties and vacation coverage will be shared as needed. Respiratory Care services are available by in house staff at any hour, every day. Receives direction from: clinic manager, director and providers. Gives direction to: any staff, where Respiratory Care services are concerned. The therapist is expected to actively participate, communicate, address clinic and care concerns and offer guidance regarding respiratory care or equipment.

      EDUCATION:

      • Eligibility for the position requires licensure from the state of Montana Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners and all of the required prerequisites (RRT credential)

      EXPERIENCE:

      • Must be able and willing to train newly hired staff within levels of expertise

      LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

      • Licensure by Montana Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners
      • BLS
      • ACLS
      • PALS

      KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

      • Knowledge of general respiratory care processes, procedures and equipment.
      • Applicable rules and regulations of federal and State regulatory agencies as well as GFC general and departmental policies.
      • The Respiratory Therapist appearance, conduct and delivery of service shall be in accordance with the above.
      • Knowledge and understanding of continuous quality improvement procedures and current projects.
      • Knowledge of safety and infection control regulations and recommendations.
      • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
