- Evaluate patient care and progress
- Examine patients to assess general physical condition
- Implement an interdisciplinary plan of care
- Interpret medical test results
- Perform diagnostic tests
- Perform or assist with interventions such as airway maintenance, line insertions, inductions and intubations
- Plan patient care
- Operate and monitor respiratory equipment to administer treatments
- Ensure infection control
- Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients' condition
- Assist with transport of high-risk patients
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate
- Certificate of Registry from the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists - R.R.T.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
