      Shift: Rotating, 7.5 hour
      Shift Start: Hours are subject to change based on operational requirements.
      This position may be scheduled at any of the following sites: King Campus (Stoney Creek East Hamilton), West 5th Campus (Hamilton Mountain)

      Position Description

      POSITION SUMMARY:
      Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Registered Technologist performs a variety of mammographic procedures at a technical level. The Registered Technologist is a team player with a commitment to excellent patient care skills to perform high quality imaging in Women’s Health and is responsible for performing a variety of patient exams, good working knowledge of anatomy and physiology, working knowledge of equipment and ability to troubleshoot problems, and adherence to hospital and departmental policies. The Registered Technologist is responsible to maintain competency and follow standards, as outlined by the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO).

      QUALIFICATIONS:
      •Current registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) required.
      •Membership in the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) and/or the Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (OAMRT) preferred.
      •Completed Mammography I and Mammography II courses preferred, or in progress.
      •Completed Certificate in Breast Imaging - Screening (CBIS) certification preferred, or in progress.
      •Recent related experience with Ontario Breast Screening Program (OBSP) and the High Risk OBSP Program preferred.
      •Current BCLS certification preferred.
      •Demonstrated initiative, responsibility and organization required.
      •Demonstrated good verbal and written communication skills required.
      •Demonstrated good computer skills required.
      •Demonstrated good working knowledge of all mammography exams, anatomy & physiology, physics and imaging equipment required.
      •Demonstrated ability to image accurately, thoroughly and quickly required.
      •Demonstrated experience working with mammography exams, equipment, PACS and computer software required.
      •Demonstrated working knowledge of sterile procedures, infection control, emergency codes, safety awareness, and research required.
      •Demonstrated evidence of continued education and learning required.
      •Demonstrated excellent problem-solving, time management and teamwork skills required.
      •Demonstrated commitment to excellence in patient care required.
      •Demonstrated reliable attendance and ability/willingness to work various shifts across campuses as needed is required.
      •Working knowledge with IV training
      •Experience with contrast injections for mammography
      •Experience with mammography interventional procedures
