- National Cancer Registrars Association (NCRA) Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR), National Surgical Quality Improvement Program (NSQIP) Surgical Clinical Reviewer (SCR), American Trauma Society (ATS) Certified Specialist in Trauma Registries (CSTR)
- Minimum of 4-year of related experience in medical field required
- Must be comfortable with, but not limited to: Excel, web-browsers, email, electronic health records
- Must be familiar with various technologies such as, but not limited to: security (e.g., Citrix), data collection/abstraction, encoders, web-based applications
- Proficient in project management skills and workflow assignments of staff
- Proficiency in data abstracting and entry into all data bases used for clinical documentation
- Strong interpersonal skills and tactfulness to be able to effectively communicate with team members and client contacts
- Preferred up-to-date understanding or experience with clinical registries and research.
- Flexibility and the ability to work in a dynamic, team-oriented environment
- Ability to work independently and be self-directed.

Position Summary:
Registrar captures a complete summary of the history, diagnosis, treatment, and disease status for every patient. Performs technical analysis of patient data. Assumes direct responsibility for accuracy, completeness, and data entry of information collected. In compliance with JHMI and local and national registry stakeholders, analyzes and interprets all available patient data to determine coding classifications and accurate abstraction of registry variables Determines selection, evaluation and analysis of available medical records in order to satisfy criteria for inclusion or exclusion into registry database. Maintains all information to obtain annual follow-up on patients entered into data base for purposes of patient care management, operational reporting, research, epidemiological studies, state, and national data submission.
