Providing support and services to students, staff, and the public (email, phone, in-person)

Maintaining confidentiality and compliance with FERPA laws regarding student records

Maintaining a working knowledge of MyUW as it relates to student record information

Assisting other Office of the Registrar units with administrative tasks
Department Overview:
The Office of the Registrar employs a team of 23 talented student employees each year to assist faculty, staff and students across campus. The Office of the Registrar is uniquely positioned to provide vital administration to our campus. We are the intersection between the Schools and Colleges and the teaching and learning mission, student services, and technology. Anticipated Start Date:

Remote Work Eligibility Detail:
The Office of the Registrar has a hybrid work environment for most staff. Student employees will have in-person responsibilities, but there may also be opportunities for remote shifts during designated breaks.
Anticipated Hours Per Week:
10-16 hours per week Schedule:
Student office assistants will work between 8am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday. Work location will primarily be onsite in the Office of the Registrar. Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:

UW-Madison Student Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
This position is well-suited for those interested in student services/administrative work and technology. Students in this position assist with data entry from college transcripts into the Student Information System, reviewing transfer course equivalencies in Transferology Lab, and routing syllabi to academic departments for review. Students will also provide customer service for prospective students, current students, academic advisors, faculty, and the general public. The most qualified applicants will be familiar with MyUW and the Student Center, reliable, detail-oriented, able to work independently and with others, and effective communicators. The desire and ability to learn quickly and the ability to adhere to confidentiality/privacy guidelines are essential.
Position Summary/Job Duties:
Responsibilities include administrative support for transfer credit evaluation functions such as college transcript review, data entry, facilitation of syllabus review, the course equivalency service, and customer service.
