- Experience in rehabilitation setting preferred
- CPR Certification
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English
- Reviews treatment plan and precautions prior to initiating treatment and discusses goals and interventions with appropriate treating therapists
- Provides direct patient supervision and engages patient in therapeutic activities as directed by professional staff
- Establishes and maintains a therapeutic relationship with patients and uses praise and other reinforcers to encourage appropriate behavior
- Operates and maintains a variety of therapeutic equipment and materials specific to designated department
- Assesses patient response to treatment and notifies the supervising personnel
- Assists patients in use and care of assistive devices, prosthetic and orthotic equipment

The Rehabilitation Technician provides patient supervision and therapy interventions based on the treatment plans and established goals. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.

The Rehabilitation Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
The Rehabilitation Technician reports to the Director Rehabilitation Services.
Must be able to speak, read and write English neatly and legibly. Requires constant use of good body mechanics. Required to walk or stand most of the day. Employee must lift/carry/push 20 to 40 lbs. occasionally. Assists patients weighing up to 300 lbs. with walking, transferring and therapy. Requires frequent bending, stooping, climbing, reaching overhead, crouching, and pulling. Must be able to operate a computer keyboard. This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements.
