- Responsible for the safety, training, and motivation of a 3-person reliability team consisting of 2 Maintenance Planners and 1 Storeroom Clerk.
- Responsible for maintaining an efficient operation consistent with overall Company objectives in the areas of safety, quality, employee engagement and cost.
- Directs the centralized control of preventative maintenance for the Delavan and Walworth equipment and facilities so that the plant remains in good operating order, consistent with standards and with a minimum of maintenance downtime. Uses analytical data to improve the reliability process and develops maintenance strategies for all equipment and facilities.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance with USG’s Reliability Performance Model. Supports the administrative elements of the RPM Program including: work order closing; RPM filing; storeroom cycle counts; energy usage monitoring; and PPM optimization. Ensures that affected employees receive training in the following areas: RPM Model; reliability focused maintenance; materials management; EAM use; and failure investigation/reporting.
- Works closely with planner, PMC’s, and reliability support staff to develop long-term asset planning as well as assisting production departments with Operator Basic Care planning and technical assistance. Initiates formal failure analysis for emergency and break-in work orders to determine the need for new or improved maintenance strategies (PPM procedures).
- Takes an active role in maintaining RPM Scorecard and regularly communicates key information to management including: KPI information; down day critique; continuous improvement efforts; follow up status on emergency work; and provides recommendations to production to assess equipment for PPM improvement.
- Responsible for managing all Storeroom operations including but not limited to vendor selection, vendor-managed inventory and running Storeroom usage reports.
- Supports RPM program audits and oversees corrective action to ensure continuous improvement across all program requirements.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of best-in-class maintenance/reliability practices throughout the facility including craftsperson training and program development. Responsible for the coordination and implementation of assigned model safety program(s), opacity training, and other regulatory requirements.
- Responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of all plant major maintenance and capital improvement plans. Develops maintenance strategy and standards for vibration, alignment, lubrication, precision maintenance, etc.
- Responsible for handling AXAXL (insurance carrier) asset management/audits and implementing corrective action plans for deficiencies.
- Responsible for creating Work Contracts and executing contracts in order to complete assigned project work.
- A degree/advanced schooling or equivalent technical field experience (in maintenance or engineering related fields) is preferred. Supervision experience is a plus.
- Solid understanding of the RPM program and the ability to enter data, navigate, and extract information from EAM is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety compliance programs with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and housekeeping.
- Strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), decision making, and employee relation skills within a diverse work environment.
- Motivator with a high level of organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to effectively work across departments and with contractors/vendors.
- Basic knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies that can be utilized to monitor conditions of equipment. Basic understanding of Root Cause Failure Analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis to evaluate equipment failures and optimize preventative maintenance practices is a plus.
- Applicants should be proficient at Microsoft Word/Excel, Oracle, and EAM maintenance management systems. Experience with EAM maintenance management system is a plus. Applicant should have basic knowledge of running reports in Microsoft Access.
