Position Definition: Responsible for administration of the eviction/storage program and assisting the Assistant Director of Health, Environmental Health with the Uniform Relocation Assistance Act Program.
Example of Duties: Participates in program development, implementation and evaluation as a member of the Norwalk Health Department Environmental Health section. Receives verbal and written assignments from the Assistant Director of Health, Environmental Health. Plans and organizes work according to determined priorities and procedures with the Assistant Director of Health, Environmental Health. Documents and provides oversight of evictions; assists in scheduling and tracking auctions. Documents and tracks individuals as part of the Relocation Program in addition to assisting with search for permanent housing. Conducts inspections and prepares statistical and narrative reports on work accomplished and other matters as deemed appropriate by the Assistant Director of Health, Environmental Health.
Additional Duties: Works cooperatively with City departments, state and federal governments/agencies, and community organizations.
Supervised By: Direct supervision by the Assistant Director of Health, Environmental Health, general supervision by the Director of Health.

Ability to provide exceptional customer service.Graduation from High School or GED or enrollment in a Bachelor’s program, preferably in Public Health, Environmental Science or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or Environmental Science is preferable. Bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred. License or Certification:
Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s license and insured reliable transportation. Certification as a Lead Inspector or Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor preferable.
Hours: This position is Part-Time, up to 19.5 hours per week.
Rate: $28 per hour
