      NOTICE: This position will be headquartered in an ODJFS facility at the following location:

      Akron Delivery Center - 172 S. Broadway St., Akron, OH 44308

      What You’ll Do

      • Provide administrative support to all aspects of the bureau, including Employment Services, Business Services, the Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker program, and the Work Opportunity Tax Credit program
      • Schedule meetings
      • Prepare documents
      • Organizing calendars
      • Maintain records
      • Manage travel reports
      • Represent the bureau in workgroups and committees
      • Order supplies
      • Organize electronic documents
      • Additional assignments as assigned

      Necessary Skills:

      • Proficient in computer software, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
      • Strong organizational skills
      • Proficient in business writing, as well as written and verbal communication skills
      • Problem-solving skills
      • Attention to detail
      • Time management and multitasking

      Schedule:

      • This position is considered remote. Standard workdays are Monday through Friday between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

      Travel:

      • Travel is required to attend meetings. Employees must reside in Ohio and within a reasonable distance of their assigned work location. If selected, you may be asked to travel to one of our locations to pick up equipment and receive initial instructions.

      • Prioritizing tasks to ensure they are completed timely and accurately
      • Last-minute requests that need to be completed immediately

      The ideal candidate must have and identify the following in their application:

      • Completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; and 12 mos. exp. in secretarial/administrative professional field.

      Option 2

      • Or 30 mos. exp. or 30 mos. trg. in secretarial/administrative professional field.

      Option 3

      • Or 12 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 2, 16872.

      Option 4

      • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

      Pay Information

      This position is in the State of Ohio’s OCSEA Pay Schedule, Pay Range 30. Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be the minimum salary of that pay range (step 1, currently $23.49 per hour). These ranges provide a standardized pathway for pay increases. With continued employment, new hires move to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter. Cost of Living Adjustments increase wages in these ranges each fiscal year. The current step progression wages are in the table below.

      ODJFS may require occasional in-person meetings for training or other operational needs. You will have access to ODJFS shared workspaces, if needed.
