What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Identify root causes of insurance denials and take appropriate actions for prompt payment
- Review encounters and reports with an average productivity of 50 accounts per day
- Document follow-up activities in the practice management system
- Resolve incoming patient calls with excellent customer service skills
- Perform collection actions, including appeals and resubmitting claims to payers
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
- 1 year of Optometry third-party billing experience
- At least one year of professional medical billing and collecting experience
- Experience with Excel and Windows-based programs
- Basic understanding of accounting and math skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with NextGen PM/EHR
