What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Assign ICD-10-CM and/or CPT codes for outpatient and clinic services
- Communicate with providers to ensure specificity in documentation
- Verify and modify charges and coding for accuracy
- Ensure data accuracy of State HIDI data
- Perform other duties as assigned
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma with coding education
- Certification as CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC, CCSP, or COC within 180 days of hire
- 1 year of experience in a Health Information Services department
- Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 0-2 years of experience as a Clinic/Outpatient Coder or in a related healthcare role
