What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review Medical Records to identify pertinent diagnoses and procedures for rehab inpatient services
- Select principal diagnosis and procedure for appropriate DRG assignment
- Abstract information from medical records based on client guidelines
- Mentor training coders and new hires
- Maintain knowledge of Coding Clinic and Inpatient Guidelines for Coding and Reporting
What is Required (Qualifications):
- CCS required with RHIT or RHIA preferred
- Minimum 3 years of Rehab Inpatient coding experience
- Extensive knowledge of ICD-10 CM/PCS coding principles and guidelines
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- 0-2 years of experience as an Rx Technician or Customer Service Representative in a healthcare-related service
