What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Coordinate the application and reapplication process for practitioners seeking clinical privileges, including verification of information and preparing files for review
- Serve as a customer service liaison, facilitating communication between applicants, human resources, and clinical departments throughout the credentialing process
- Evaluate applicants’ credentials to ensure compliance with medical staff bylaws and accrediting agency standards
- Communicate credentialing deadlines and maintain timely updates on provider credentials
- Maintain credentialing-related databases and support other medical staff office functions as needed
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor’s Degree in a healthcare-related field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 2 years of hospital-based credentialing and privileging experience
- Experience utilizing a credentialing database
- Must obtain NAMSS Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) certification within two years of hire
- Must have a home office setup conducive for remote work and preferably experience working in a remote environment
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience in an academic medical center, multi-entity health system, and/or a Credentialing Verification Organization (CVO)
- Advanced experience in MS Office Suite products
