What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Review and resolve daily claim scrubber edits based on coding and billing guidelines
- Research and resolve outstanding denials within the work queue, ensuring timely follow-up
- Identify denial trends and provide education to prevent future avoidable denials
- Initiate and manage insurance appeals promptly
- Communicate denial trends and increases to supervisors to positively impact denial volumes
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High School Graduate with some college education
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in medical billing/collections, focusing on denials, appeals, and insurance collections
- Extensive knowledge of ICD9 and CPT-4 coding, including modifiers
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Focused experience in denials and appeals management
- In-depth knowledge of insurance billing guidelines for various types of insurance
- Team lead or supervisory experience
- AAPC credential (if in Hospital Billing Services)
