What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Make outgoing and take incoming phone calls to relay information between providers and patients
- Schedule follow-up appointments and surgeries
- Provide results and information to patients regarding their care
- Maintain familiarity with Electronic Medical Record and scheduling systems
- Ensure excellent telephone customer service without hands-on patient care
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Minimum education and certification/licensure as a Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse
- Excellent telephone customer service skills
- Familiarity with computers and ability to navigate Microsoft Office Suite
- Typing speed of 35+ wpm, which will be tested during the interview
- Ability to work within Central, Mountain, or Pacific time zones
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Previous experience in a surgical scheduling role or healthcare environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Additional certifications related to medical assistance or nursing
