      This is a remote position.

      Culture Flipper is looking for an ENKO language expert

      Working with KO and EN writers and editors, your role will be to help the team produce the final transcreated work by translating and contextually deconstructing source texts and will include the following responsibilities:

      • Supply the cultural context of KO and EN texts
      • Communicate with Project Managers & Coordinators in both KO and EN
      • Provide feedback to KO and EN writers before delivering final work to clients (includes proofreading KO and EN texts and comparing target texts with the source)
      • Coordinating with Project Managers & Coordinators
      • QA and proofread non-literary translations
      • Manage an ENKO Translation Memory (TM) if needed
      • Upcoming projects include but are not limited to:
        • E-commerce: product catalog for designer brands, e-commerce platform UIs, retail media platform UIs, customer-facing emails
        • Online Education: e-learning modules, teacher’s manuals, student instructions
        • Film and TV: Pre-production, production, post-production documents

      You must have the following:

      • Written and verbal fluency in Korean and English (primarily American. Knowledge of the differences between British/International English is a huge plus)
      • 2+ years of experience in translation, interpretation, or localization
      • Effective communication skills and poise in conflict situations
      • A talent and passion for language
      • Command of current Korean usage in Korea
      • Able to discern good writing from great writing
      • Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving on a deadline
      • Experience in QA/QC (not a requirement, but a plus)
      • Experience in CAT (computer-aided translation) tools and TM management (not a requirement, but a huge plus)
