      Rosie, Renewables Engineering Graduate

What is the Engineering Graduate Scheme?

EDF Renewables purpose is to accelerate a Net Zero future where clean energy powers our lives. We want to make the Net Zero future happen as fast as we can. We want to set the pace and, where necessary, disrupt the status quo and transform perceptions. We are here to combat climate change and this is a clear and tangible goal for us. Climate change is what galvanises us to bring the right solutions to the UK and Ireland.

Our mission is critical in the pursuit of our purpose, we will lead the way in the delivery and operation of Renewable technologies. We are proud to utilise fully our EDF heritage and place ourselves at the core of the industry. We are constantly challenging ourselves to improve the way things are being done. We bring leadership to our interactions and collaborations with one another, how we influence our partners and external bodies and how we use technology.

You'll embark on a transformative 15-month programme, where you’ll experience different areas of the business across 5 assignments. These opportunities could include working with:

      • Our technical competency centres within our Central Technical Organisation

      • Project Engineering, supporting our Operational Portfolio

      • Offshore Wind Construction Projects

      • Assignments across EDF Group including Hynamics (EDF’s dedicated subsidiary for green hydrogen production) in France

On this programme you’ll learn from our experts, gain valuable experience, and have the support of an assignment manager, mentor and buddy throughout the programme. You will then spend your final assignment working towards your substantive position.

      Pay, culture and benefits:

      • Starting salary of £35,000, market-leading pension scheme and annual performance bonus

      • 25 days’ annual leave

At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself. We’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application, making adjustments as you need.

We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

Training, development and support for you:

We’re passionate about your development and we offer each graduate a tailored training plan based on your discipline that will help develop your skills, knowledge and behaviours, both during the scheme and in your future careers.

Previous projects that graduates have been involved in have contributed to the development and operational phases of our Renewable assets, which directly enable our Britain’s ambitious net zero targets, and they have had the opportunity to work on our operational wind farms, understanding the kind of maintenance that is required to keep them functioning and analysing data to see how performance can be improved.

You’ll also have mentors and industry experts to give you advice along the way and help you with decisions about your future career path.
