      Are you a dedicated and skilled Sonographer looking for an exciting opportunity in a busy, fast-paced Ultrasound department in a teaching hospital? We are looking for a motivated individual to join our Ultrasound team, working alongside experienced Sonographers and Radiologists to deliver outstanding patient care across multiple sites within our Trust.

      This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment, gaining experience in a wide range of ultrasound services while making a real difference to patient care.

      Main duties of the job

      What Youll Do

      Work across our main sites at Leeds General Infirmary and St James, with the possibility of covering peripheral sites at Seacroft and Wharfedale.

      Provide high-quality obstetric, inpatient, and outpatient ultrasound services.

      Support the regional transplant service, including pre- and post-renal and liver transplants.

      Gain valuable experience in our dedicated Paediatric Ultrasound department.

      Work in a fast-paced and diverse clinical environment, with opportunities for skill development and career progression.

      The post holder will report directly to the Ultrasound Team Managers and will be expected to meet the following criteria

      To provide a high quality diagnostic ultrasound service by performing unsupervised scanning sessions.

      To independently formulate a comprehensive diagnostic report for ultrasound examinations, and to ensure that this is communicated to

      the appropriate referring clinician.

      To act as a source of expertise to clinicians/other hospital staff.

      To work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

      To maintain on-going professional development through attendance at clinical/scientific/multi-disciplinary meetings.

      To be involved in clinical training programmes, mentoring and supervising of both Student Sonographers Specialist Registrar

      Radiologists.

      Essential

      • Have experience of a range of Ultrasound techniques and procedures to include Obstetrics and General Medical Ultrasound
      • Detailed knowledge of anatomy, pathologies, abnormalities and diseases/conditions.
      • Knowledge of local and national guidelines and protocols.
      • Must be able to demonstrate evidence of current practise within Ultrasound
      • Evidence of working as an autonomous practitioner with strong report writing capabilities

      Desirable

      • Vascular experience.

      Additional Requirements

      Essential

      • Must be able to fulfil Occupational Health requirements for the post(with reasonable adjustments if necessary) including clearance on blood borne viruses in compliance with trust Policy.

      Qualifications

      • To hold a Degree or equivalent in Healthcare Studies
      • To hold the Post Graduate Diploma in Medical Ultrasound
      • State registration with the HCPC or equivalent professional regulatory body
      • Certified to perform Nuchal Translucency Screening

      Desirable

      • Master's degree in Medical Ultrasound.

      • Excellent communication Skills and experience of counselling skills e.g.breaking bad news.
      • High level dexterity and hand eye coordination.
