      We seek a full-time Research Analyst to contribute to projects on climate change impacts and adaptation in Dr. Miyuki Hino's research group. This position's primary projects will focus on flooding and migration in the US. Topics of additional projects include US disaster risk management policy, coastal flood monitoring in NC, and community-engaged projects to build local resilience. The Research Analyst will gain extensive hands-on research experience and have the opportunity to directly contribute to multiple peer-reviewed papers.This position will be responsible for a wide range of research tasks, including literature review, designing analysis to meet research objectives, and data analysis and visualization, including spatial and statistical analyses. The datasets are large and complex, so experience with R or Python is required. They will also evaluate research results for validity and reliability and oversee project progress. Finally, they will help develop research papers, presentations, and other communications products. Past academic research experience is preferred, but not required. This position will be collaborating with a team of other faculty (at UNC and beyond), post-doctoral scholars, graduate students, and undergraduate students, so an enthusiasm for collaborative work is also required. Position is for 1 year, with the opportunity to renew based on funding up to 2 years.
