      ISS-STOXX is Seeking for Research Analysts for their Market Intelligence Research division at Mumbai - Goregaon (E). This represents an exciting opportunity to shape and make a significant contribution to the global research teams of ISS MI. The position of an Analyst on the Research Development team represents opens the door to different career pathways within MI Global Research organization.

      Overview:

      ISS MI provides critical data and insights to global asset managers, insurance companies, and distributors to help them make informed, strategic decisions to manage and grow their businesses. Through its combination of proprietary and integrated datasets, in-depth global research and trusted executive engagement, ISS MI delivers solutions for market sizing, competitor benchmarking, product strategy and opportunity identification across a wide range of financial products, including funds, annuities, insurance, mortgages, and other instruments. The ISS MI suite of solutions encompasses the industry-leading data platforms: Simfund, BrightScope, Local Market Share, Financial Clarity, as well as a full collection of global research and analytics services, including Investor Economics, Market Metrics, and Plan for Life.

      ISS MI Research clients span a broad spectrum from major financial companies, including asset managers, banks, wealth managers, mutual fund companies, life insurers, and brokerage firms, to regulators, government agencies, and industry associations. Our research teams engage with multiple levels within our client organisations, ranging from analysts to C-suite business leaders, both as part of our research processes and through numerous individual and group client interactions.

The Analyst position will form an integral part of our global, as well as country-specific—US, Canadian and Australian—research operations, with exciting opportunities to contribute to growing our global research and analytical insights capital around the world.


      Responsibilities:

      The ongoing research responsibilities of the position feed into quarterly, semi-annual and annual subscription-based research publications, as well as being a key support for one-time engagements and research projects. The role involves ongoing tracking of product and distribution channel metrics, engaging with many research participants for both knowledge-building and client service perspectives.

      Specifically, on a day-to-day basis the analyst's responsibilities could encompass the following:

      • Financial literacy – Should have a basic level of understanding of financial products across the financial spectrum (Banking, Insurance, Asset wealth management and Capital markets)

      • Develop necessary skillsets via training – Undergo training on data sources to collect information and produce content.

      • Information gathering: Conduct primary and secondary research on emerging trends in the financial services industry (esp. asset/wealth management, Insurance and Capital Markets, alternative private markets space. Compile a list of global trends, also covering ongoing tracking of industry metrics and developments.

      • Deliverables: Contribute to periodical research productions and other outputs as required by the global research team. Based on need, conduct competitive intelligence and prepare factsheets of players. Support for one-time engagements at ISS MI by conducting requisite secondary research to produce the output.

      • Team player - Proactively share knowledge and understanding of industry developments with the global ISS MI Research team, on a formal and informal basis.

      Qualifications:

      The ISS MI Research environment is best suited to self-starting, highly motivated individuals who can deal with the pressures of learning/researching, developing analyses and delivering research outputs within specific timelines.

      Candidates should have:

      • An undergraduate or graduate degree from a well-recognised university in economics, finance, commerce, or business administration. Other disciplines such as mathematics, statistics or social sciences will be considered in combination with experience.

      • 1-2 years’ experience in the financial services or wealth management industries would be preferred (though not necessary)

      • Must be proficient in standard office software (MS Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).

      • Strong command and understanding of MS Excel and working knowledge of databases an asset.

      • High attention to detail and data integrity.

      • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.

      • Strong interpersonal and people management skills.

      • Sense of responsibility for deadlines and deliverables.

      • The flexibility to adapt to changing priorities.

      • Excellent problem-solving skills.
