      We are searching for a Hypersonic Research and Systems Engineer Sr. to join our excellent team. In this role, you will participate in the iterative process of developing new technologies for hypersonic platforms, assessing their impact to mission performance, and investigating resulting system design optimization. You will be working closely with engineering teams spanning microelectronics, sensors, materials, manufacturing, modelling and simulation to accomplish these goals. Some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

      • Communicating with stakeholders across the LM Business Areas and Corporate Office
      • Building external Customer relationships and shaping contract opportunities
      • Leading small technical teams on multidisciplinary design analysis and optimization
      • Defining value propositions and hypothesis testing for R&D initiatives
      • Formulating requirements for next-generation hypersonic mission needs

      You will typically have:
      • 5+ years of professional experience (post-graduate research can be included).
      • Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance and thus US Citizenship is required.
      • B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

      This role will require occasional travel and the selected candidate should be comfortable working in a hybrid environment. • B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
      • Experience performing modeling and simulation.
      • Extensive knowledge of prevailing hypersonic flight dynamics, trajectories, mission concepts, and unique operating conditions / environmental factors for the hypersonic regime.
      • Ability to integrate subsystem design attributes into system-level operational analysis models and generate quantitative utility metrics (e.g. “what if” scenario modelling).
      • Active TS or equivalent and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance. At least 4 of the following:
      • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin hypersonic programs and strategy
      • Experience supporting hypersonics R&D and technology roadmaps
      • Understanding of flight electronics, avionics, GNC and PNT payload operation.
      • Experience designing sensor systems, radomes and antennas for high-speed aircraft.
      • Ability to use modeFrontier and/or ModelCenter software for MDAO (multidisciplinary design analysis and optimization)
      • Experience conducting Operations Analysis for hypersonic platforms
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
