      Job Description:

      The Geddes Lab for Motivational Neuromedicine at the Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University, invites applications for a Research Assistant to join our team. The primary objective of the position is to coordinate and collect data for two research studies aimed to understand neuropsychiatric symptoms and biomarkers in aging to predict and prevent Alzheimer’s disease. The position is available starting May 19, 2025. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual with an interest in translational applications of functional MRI and PET neuroimaging. The Research Assistant will join an interdisciplinary team of researchers with expertise in behavioral neurology, psychology, cognitive aging, wearables technology, translational research, brain plasticity and MR and PET methods development and will be responsible for all aspects of the research process, including

      • Acquiring cognitive, behavioural and neuroimaging data in older persons at risk for Alzheimer’s disease.
      • Participation in providing academic mentorship of undergraduate and graduate students and research staff.
      • Dissemination of research findings at professional conferences, and career development resources through McGill University and the Greater Montreal area.

      Qualifications:

      BSc or MSc degree (Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Sciences, Medical Physics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field)

      Other Qualifying Skills and Abilities:

      • Experience with acquisition and analysis of behavioral, physical and neuropsychological data and functional MRI.
      • Knowledge of research methodology, quantitative data analysis including statistics and programming are an asset.
      • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
      • Strong written and oral French and English communication skills required.
      • Interests in the clinical application of cognitive aging research and experience with clinical populations are also an asset.
      • Outstanding communication skills and interest in working collaboratively on a vibrant research team
