      The Surgery department has an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant 3 (A) position. The incumbent explores innovations to research and strives to improve implementation and family outcomes. The Research Assistant 3 (A) ensures compliance with University policies, rules, and regulations to meet federal, state, and local standards pertaining to safety and ethics.

      CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

      • Plans and implements research experiments, according to research protocols, to assure high-quality scientific results in support of applicable project goals.

      • Participates in assessing the feasibility of implementing innovations.

      • Assesses data trends and develops reports and presentations.

      • Supports the initiation of new research by reviewing and synthesizing literature.

      • Oversees inventory of supplies and equipment and places orders in a timely fashion.

      • Assists in the preparation of scientific papers, reports, and manuscripts.

      • Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

      CORE QUALIFICATIONS

      • High School diploma or equivalent required

      • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

      DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM

      Department Specific Functions

      Register classes and maintain data collection on all projects. Contact EMS and Law Enforcement agencies to schedule trainings. Prepare annual and monthly FDOT reports. Enroll participants in patient education and perform data collection and entry. Contact patients for the follow-up survey after discharge. Send the monthly enrollment list to the clinical trials office.
