The research assistant will be an active participant in research projects related to our Economics & Education program. The candidate should have research experience in either qualitative or quantitative approaches with considerable interest in mixed methods research.Job Summary/Basic Function:
The research assistant will be an active participant in research projects related to our Economics & Education program. The candidate should have research experience in either qualitative or quantitative approaches with considerable interest in mixed methods research. The candidate should also have topical interests in at least one of the following: activity theory, cultural inequity, ethnic studies, culturally sustaining pedagogies, critical Whiteness studies, student identity development, community colleges, and/or higher education. Formal course training or self directed study in sociology, higher education, or a related field is preferred.
Responsibilities might include conducting literature reviews, drafting interview protocols, conducting interviews, collecting survey data, merging/cleaning large datasets, coding and analyzing data, among other related tasks as needed. Proficiency managing large datasets with Stata and/or preparing large survey datasets in Qualtrics is a plus. The ideal candidate should be detail oriented, motivated, and enthusiastic to collaborate on manuscripts slated for peer review.Minimum Qualifications:
