Our Cancer and Stem Cell Laboratory focuses on cancer stem cells, which drive tumor growth, resist treatments, and cause cancer recurrence. Our research aims to understand these cells, uncover their unique characteristics , and develop precise therapies to effectively eliminate them. Your contributions will be pivotal in advancing this research, driving the development of innovative treatments that enhance cancer outcomes and patient surviva l .

      We are now seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our stem cell lab . This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge cancer stem cell research, focusing on understanding how normal stem cells transform into cancer stem cells and developing therapies to target these malignant cells.

      About the Role

      As a Research Assistant, you will play a key role in advancing cancer research by:

      • Managing experimental animals and preclinical cancer models

      • conducting drug testing and target identification experiments

      • performing cell-based assays, data collection, and analysis

      • organizing lab inventories and orders

      Key Responsibilities

      • Conduct high-quality experiments and contribute to impactful publications

      • assist in planning and coordinating research projects

      • present research findings at lab meetings

      • manage laboratory supplies and train new staff and students

      • strictly comply with regulatory guidelines (including OGTR and ethics) and Institute policies

      • participation in weekend and public holiday work where required

      • travel between the university facilities if needed.

      About You

      We are seeking a dedicated researcher with:

      • A degree with Honours (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific or medical fiel d

      • experience in PC2 laboratories and with animal disease models (highly desirable)

      • strong technical expertise in conducting independent experiments using advanced technologies

      • commitment to ethical research involving animals and GMOs under strict guidelines

      • exceptional attention to detail, time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
