About the company
The Simons Foundation is a private foundation established in 1994 by Marilyn and James Harris Simons with offices in New York City.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Center for Computational Biology (CCB) of the Simons Foundation’s Flatiron Institute aims to advance the understanding of fundamental and historically challenging biological processes by developing theory, innovative modeling tools for large-scale biophysical simulations, and computational frameworks for analyzing increasingly large and complex experimental datasets.
To maximize these opportunities, the Flatiron Institute’s Center for Computational Biology (CCB) is seeking undergraduate CUNY students majoring in Biology/Biological Sciences, Chemistry/Chemical Sciences, Computer Science, Informatics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering and who have an interest in computational biology. The goal of the internship is to give scientists at the undergraduate level hands-on research experience in computational biology.
This paid internship will take place during the academic year (approximately September 2024 - June 2025), and will involve part-time research (10-20 hours per week) at our headquarters in New York, NY. Interns will choose their primary project from among several projects offered by CCB faculty mentors, and will work alongside other mentors and peers at CCB. Interns are also invited to participate in the Flatiron Institute and Simons Foundation’s seminars, research presentations and other educational opportunities.
