Conducting research on Islamic ethics, theology, and role in public life
Summarizing and synthesizing research findings
Assisting with writing and editing projects
Providing administrative support
Masters degree in Islamic studies, theology, political science, or related field
Advanced proficiency or fluency in Arabic
Familiarity with Islamic law, theology, ethics, and history
Strong research and writing skills
Must be willing to abide by Fuller’s Community Standards
Reports to the Director of the Mouw Institute for Faith and Public Life
This is a remote position. You will be part of a research team that is dispersed across the country.
Salary rate the seminary expects to pay: $17.50 per hour

Research Assistant, Islamic Studies
FT/PT/TEMP: PART-TIME
HOURS: 15 hours/week
STATUS: NON-EXEMPT
REPORTS TO: Director of the Mouw Institute for Faith and Public Life
LOCATION: Remote
The research assistant will undertake research tasks and provide overall support to Dr. Shadi Hamid, assistant research professor of Islamic studies at Fuller Seminary, on projects relating to Islam’s role in public life, Islamic ethics, and theology. The position is 15 hours/ week and will start in early February.
