      Job Summary

      The Research Assistant will support the Goddard Research Group in the Division of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at Caltech, reporting directly to Professor Goddard. The successful candidate will perform basic research related to the applications of Quantum Mechanics and Reactive Force Field methods to simulate, predict, and understand complex systems in chemistry and physics.

      Essential Job Duties

      • Quantum Mechanics calculations to simulate, predict, and understand model systems in chemistry and physics.
      • Reactive Force Field methods to simulate, predict, and understand complex systems in chemistry and physics.
      • Write papers based on results from simulations.

      Basic Qualifications

      • Bachelor's degree.
      • 1 year of research experience using Quantum Mechanics and/or Reactive Force Field methods to simulate, predict, and understand complex systems in chemistry and physics.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills.

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Knowledge and strong interest in chemistry, physics, molecular dynamics, using computers for QM and reactive simulations.
