      Summary of Job Duties:

      The Research Associate I reports to the Department of Family and Preventive Medicine (DFPM), Research and Evaluation Division. The Research Associate I will develop, maintain, and manage project/research databases while establishing quality controls and security protocols. This position develops, implements, and manages data collection and develops reports for the project Director/Principal Investigator, evaluator, and funding agencies, as well as develops project-specific data collection training for the online data collection system. The Research Associate I contributes to original research ideas and study concepts. Travel within the state is required.


      Qualifications:

      Bachelor's degree in a social/behavioral, computer science, or related field plus five (5) years of research experience required.


      Additional Information:

      Responsibilities:

      • Develops, maintains, and manages new and existing project/research databases and establishes quality control and security protocols.

      • Advises the PI regarding project data problems and resolutions. Serves as liaison with outside contractors on all issues regarding the database.

      • Develops project-specific training materials and processes for use online or via face-to-face training in locations across the state. This training will include assistance with keeping data collection sites compliant with security and privacy policies.

      • Provides ongoing training and technical assistance to end users of the data management system.

      • Develops reports for the Project Director, Evaluator, database contractors, and the project funder using the data management system and other software as needed.

      • Serves as a general data coordinator and liaison for the Project Director, PI, or Evaluator, ensuring human subjects compliance and privacy/HIPAA compliance relative to the data collection, management, and analysis.

      • Serves as a member of the project management team and attends project, interagency, and other meetings to coordinate and resolve issues regarding data management.

      • Communicates and works with a diverse range of project and provider staff members professionally.

      • Interacts daily with Project Director, research staff, and administrative support to communicate and discuss data management, analysis, and reporting protocols.

      • Performs other duties as assigned.
