- Coordinates day to day activities of the Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) Training Grant at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM).
- Assists with tracking of learners within the department.
- Assists with program evaluation.
- Assists with needs assessment surveys from community partners.
- Creates and manages Excel spreadsheets.
- Assists with research project data collection.
- Assists with data collection for quality improvement in patient care.
- Assists in logistics of educational events for community partners.
- Presents updates on study progress.
- Meets weekly with the project director to discuss program activities.
- Meets monthly with the program key personnel to discuss program activities.
- Assists in completing IRB protocols, modifications, and continuing reviews.
- Assists with writing project summaries and project updates for grant reporting.
- Schedule trainee and mentor meetings and take meeting minutes.
- Constructs trainee demographic surveys in RedCap and ensures trainees complete the surveys.
- Constructs program evaluation surveys in RedCap and ensures pre and post surveys are collected when educational programs are delivered to trainees and to community agencies.
- Constructs needs assessment surveys in RedCap and obtains survey responses from community partners.
- Creates and manages Excel spreadsheets of trainee and faculty scholarly activity and scholarly products.
- Assists fellows (long term DBP trainees) with research projects through assistance with data collection.
- Obtains patient demographic information from Epic to document the number and diversity of patients served by DBP trainees.
- Co-organizes educational events for community partners and may travel to local agencies to participate in these events.
- Attends annual stakeholder conference for program quality improvement.
- Presents updates on study progress and other study-related efforts to DBP faculty.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- One year of relevant experience.
- Master's degree in a related field.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Must have prior experience with computer spreadsheets (Excel).
- Prefer experience with electronic health records but not required.
- Prefer experience with REDCap but not required.
- Prefer experience with IRB protocol development and grant writing but not required.
Summary
This Research Coordinator Position would conduct activities related to a Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics (DBP) Training Grant at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM). In this position, one would become an integral part of a team of physicians, fellows, psychologists, and social workers dedicated to conducting research and educating other health professionals, community agencies, and families about autism and other developmental disabilities. Activities would include but are not limited to assisting with data collection for research projects in addition to conducting needs assessments in the community and evaluating the effectiveness of educational programs.
