      Summary of Job Duties:

      The Research Coordinator will support the daily operations of an NIH-funded research project within the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology, under the direction of Principal Investigator Dr. Kristen Muller. This position is responsible for implementing research protocols, coordinating participant recruitment and scheduling, maintaining study records and databases, and supporting data collection and analysis efforts. The coordinator will also assist with eye-tracking software and hardware, organize community advisory board (CAB) meetings, and perform other research and administrative tasks as needed.

      This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to innovative research focused on strengths-based assessments of language comprehension in non-speaking or minimally verbal autistic children. The study explores the use of eye-tracking technology to evaluate word understanding, in collaboration with UAMS graduate students, interdisciplinary faculty, community partners, and families.


      Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders, health sciences, psychology, biological sciences, or a related field PLUS three (3) years of experience.

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel

      • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

      • Effective time management with the ability to prioritize and work independently

      • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative to move tasks forward

      • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with diverse team members

      • Demonstrates professionalism and fosters a respectful, positive work environment

      • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends based on study needs

      • Manual dexterity to operate computers, eye-tracking equipment, and office equipment

      • Visual acuity to conduct assessments, monitor participants, and analyze data on screens and video

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Master’s degree in speech-language pathology, psychology, education, occupational therapy, social work, counseling, or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience required.

      • Relevant experience may include, but is not limited to: Grant administration, working with autistic children or individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and conducting research involving vulnerable populations.
