What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Innovate by developing novel performance-driven data sub-selection methods and enhancing data collection and annotation processes
- Engineer and develop scalable data pipelines to support language model training and evaluation
- Collaborate with a global team of engineers and scientists, as well as legal domain experts, to optimize training data and evaluate outputs
- Utilize source control and backup systems for effective data versioning
- Conduct research and present findings clearly to stakeholders, both orally and in writing
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Relevant degree in a technical discipline
- Experience with applied machine learning, including training of NLP classifiers and few-shot learning
- Proficiency in programming, debugging, and system design
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, as well as data pipeline orchestration tools
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Additional knowledge or interest in the legal domain
- Experience with big data technologies like Spark or Hadoop
- Contributions to publications at leading machine learning venues
- Previous work on large-scale data processing systems
- Strong software and/or infrastructure engineering skills evidenced by code contributions to open-source libraries
