      Join our team at the forefront of innovation in the field of material handling! As part of our Advanced Research department, you'll collaborate with brilliant minds dedicated to exploring operator assist technologies, robotics, and automation.

      About the position:

      We’re looking for a Research Engineer to join our Advanced Research department. This role supports the development of quick turnaround proof-of-concept prototypes to showcase novel technology applied to our material handling vehicles. In this role you will:

      • Conduct research to identify emerging technologies and trends relevant to perception, automation, and operator assist technologies.
      • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, software engineers, and industrial designers to build proof-of-concepts showcasing new technology applied to material handling equipment.
      • Design and run experimental setups to test and validate new concepts and algorithms. Analyze results and report on findings.
      • Analyze data and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of developed technologies.
      • Stay abreast of industry advancements and contribute to intellectual property development through patent applications and publications.
      • Effectively communicate research findings and project updates through presentations, reports, and documentation.
      • Drive innovation by proposing and exploring novel ideas and approaches to solve customer challenges.

      About you:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or Computer Science.
      • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and adapt to new challenges.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Self-motivated individual with strong time management and organizational skills.
      • Demonstrated track record of effectively collaborating as a team member on multidisciplinary teams.
      • Familiarity with simulation tools and software packages commonly used in robotics research (e.g., ROS, MATLAB, Simulink, Gazebo).
      • Enthusiasm for learning and a passion for contributing to innovative research projects in the material handling industry.
      • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or Java.

      It would be great if you had:

      • Experience in conducting research in the areas of robotics, automation, computer vision, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.
      • Hands-on attitude with a proactive approach to actively participate in the design, construction, and testing of proof of concepts.
      • Internship or relevant work experience in a research or engineering environment.
      • Experience in the material handling industry.

      About the total compensation package:

      Salary - $72,000 - $78,400 per year. Compensation depends on the selected candidate’s education and experience.

      Relocation – This position may qualify for relocation.
