Support data collection, reporting and analysis for the school health service models, including School Based Health Centers (SBHCs), School-linked (telehealth and mobile clinics) and school nursing
Design surveys to capture needs, assets and future planning for school health service models
Solicit and integrate input from partners and stakeholders in designing methods and data collection tools
Gather survey data using survey software such as Qualtrics and Survey Monkey and develop quality assurance and standardization processes for collected data
Perform complex qualitative and moderately complex quantitative data analyses, including statistical trends and forecasts, of Student Health Survey (SHS) and other primary and secondary data sources using statistical software such as NVivo, R, STATA, or SPSS
Develop analytic plans and code sheets for analysis of qualitative data
Provide technical support to the SHS Youth Data Council (YDC)
Review, interpret and summarize complex and diverse primary and secondary quantitative and qualitative data for dissemination to a variety of audiences
Develop data visualization products, including summary graphs, charts and infographics, explaining the significance of findings and trends using software such as R, Excel, Tableau and/or Power BI
Consult with a variety of partners, grantees, schools, and stakeholders on the most useful dissemination products
Disseminate findings in a variety of formats including summary reports, presentations and webinars to a variety of audiences including state and local public health, community partners and schools
Solicit and integrate input from partners, grantees, schools, and stakeholders to improve data visualizations, reports and other dissemination products
Respond to data request and questions from partners, grantees, schools, stakeholders, and the public
Education training equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
One (1) to four (4) years of relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Must pass a reference check.
Experience with adolescent and school health data, programs and policy
Strong qualitative and quantitative analytic skills
Strong data visualization skills
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders
Initial review of minimum qualifications

The Research Evaluation Analyst 2 (REA2) position provides analytic and evaluation support on complex research and evaluation projects involving youth. This position sits in Program Design and Evaluation Services (PDES), an interagency research and evaluation unit within the Multnomah County Health Department (MCHD) and Oregon Health Authority (OHA). In this role, you will gather, analyze, interpret and disseminate data related to the school health service model and be a data analyst on the Oregon Student Health Survey, an annual school-based survey of 6th, 8th, and 11th graders. The person in this position will help design and develop research methods and tools; coordinate the collection of new and/or existing quantitative and qualitative data; conduct analyses using statistical software; create data visualization products; review, interpret and summarize findings; draft reports and presentations of relevant results and findings; and present results and findings to a variety of audiences.

Routine Telework: This position is designated as “routine telework,” meaning you will be working remotely (from home); a hybrid schedule also is available. As with all routine telework positions, employees may be required to come into the office on occasion. The designation of Routine Telework may be subject to change at a future time. All employees must reside in Oregon or Washington; the county cannot support ongoing telework from other locations. The onsite work location for this position is Portland State Office Building (PSOB), 800 NE Oregon St., Portland, OR 97232
