  Company Description

  Main functional duties of the Department:

  - Creation and development of Core Facilities;

  - Development and implementation of the Nazarbayev University (hereinafter – University) scientific infrastructure of development strategy.

  - Conduction of analyses for University and external organizations by trained staff and training of potential users;

  - Control and regulation of equipment use.

  Job Description

  - organization and control of qualified services provided by the Division to researchers and staff of the University;

  - promotion and participation in joint research activities on Division main work directions (microscopy, analytical chemistry, biology, material science) with the qualified faculty members and other organizations;

  - conducting, organizing and supervising research users and research technologists on analytical equipment;

  - conducting training and consultations for users of the analytical equipment;

  - providing training, certification, evaluation of the effectiveness and improvement of professional skill of the research technologist and Division users;

  - conducting effectiveness assessment and professional development of Division research technologists;

  - planning and monitoring the development of the infrastructure of the laboratory, its maintenance, modernization, branching, using and general development of the direction;

  - control of diagnostics, providing and organization of preventive maintenance and repair works of the analytical equipment of the laboratory;

  - participation in the processes of planning and development of personnel potential and in the selection and recruitment of staff of the Division;

  - development and monitoring of the implementation of the work plans of the laboratory. Monitoring the preparation of technical documents, reports and other documents related to the use and maintenance of equipment;

  - participation in identification, evaluation, management and monitoring of risks within the framework of supervised direction;

  - timely and properly executes the tasks of the line manager and the University`s management;

  - observes the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Employer`s internal documents;

  - is responsible for exercising the labor and performance discipline.

  Qualifications

  Education

  Master degree, preferable from the higher education institutions with English language of instruction.

  Priority specializations:

  - Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related disciplines.

  Work experience

  Seven years min., at least three of them supervising people.

  Minimum five years with the PhD degree in the relevant area.

  Knowledge

  - knowledge of the Republic of Kazakhstan law «On Civil Protection»;

  - knowledge of the Republic of Kazakhstan law «On Science»;

  - knowledge on the fundamental safety regulations while working on laboratory equipment;

  - knowledge of MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint;

  - fluent English, Kazakh and Russian.
