      Job Summary

      Working under the general supervision of Principal Investigator (or Research Manager), and in accordance with established hospital policies and procedures, conducts a variety of routine experiments where methodologies are clearly established. Calculates, transcribes, and analyzes data using basic statistics. May perform literature searches under direction of supervisor.


      Qualifications

      1. Under general supervision, performs a variety of routine tests following established methodologies. Routine tests may include processing research blood samples, performing molecular biology assays, and preparing sequencing libraries.
      2. Prepares and maintains tissue cultures.
      3. Record data, summarizes, and analyzes results using basic statistics.
      4. Prepares laboratory reagents, chemicals, instruments, and equipment.
      5. Maintains supplies inventory in accordance with departmental procedures.
      6. Maintains records of human research studies.
      7. Discusses progress of work regularly with supervisor.
      8. All other duties, as assigned.

      Qualifications

      • • B.S. in a biological or chemical science required.
        • New graduate with relevant course or project work.
        • Some experience with mice and tissue culture and/or molecular techniques is preferred.


      • Good organizational skills, detail oriented.
      • Sound degree of computer literacy.
      • Ability to methodically record data and to analyze data using basic statistics.
      • Ability to perform a variety of routine tests and prioritize work.
      • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
      • Ability to demonstrate professionalism.
