      Job summary

      Applications are invited for a staff nurse with a special interest in Research & Development (R&D), based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Trust. An exciting opportunity has arisen in the access and medicine research team supporting our developing community research portfolio. As a team member you will be working on cutting edge research protocols aiming to delivery research opportunities to patients and forging forward medical treatments, procedures and technologies. In addition, there is recognition that to successfully recruit and retain nursing staff to research a flexible and varied approach to job planning is preferred. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team in the team that encourages Research & Development and Innovation whilst maintaining skills and developing services that deliver excellent patient care

      Ideally we are looking for a nurse with experience in any field of medicine and research, looking for a new challenge and the desire to expand their knowledge base and their career within the field of clinical research.

      The post holder will be organised, have a flexible approach to work and be motivated to provide excellent clinical care with exceptional communication and organisational skills.

      Main duties of the job

      The role of the research nurse at The Royal Surrey County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (RSCH) will be to support the set up and delivery of research. The role will involve screening patients and monitoring patients during studies, assisting with clinical investigations and the collection and documentation of accurate data. The research FFnurse will work collaboratively with all teams to provide excellent care for patients undergoing cancer treatments.
