      • Salary Level HEW 6 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements
      • Based at the City campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University

      About You


      The Research Accounting Officer works closely with the Strategic Research Accountants and collaboratively within the team to provide research related financial services as required and within the scope of role, ensuring that research related queries can be met in a timely manner.

      You will provide a range of complex administrative financial services within the scope of this role and in relation to finance systems integrations activities using accounting methodologies, accepted accounting principles, regulatory and legislative requirements and RMIT policies and procedures.

      To be successful in this position you’ll have as a minimum:

      • Working knowledge and understanding of accounting theory, principles, policies and procedures or demonstrated accounts receivable experience utilising financial management technological solutions, preferably Workday or other ERP systems in a large organisation.
      • An excellent track record of defining problems promptly, identifying relevant factors, formulating logical conclusions and solutions.
      • Proven track record of commitment to and successful delivery of high-quality, timely outputs within strict deadlines (organisational and time management skills) in a fast-paced, growing and environment.
      • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively at all levels, independently and within a team to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
      • Organizational skills to coordinate many tasks simultaneously with changing priorities and to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
      • Tactful skill to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with people at all levels.
      • Exceptional attention to detail and continuously driving process improvements.
      • Excellent customer services skills with an ability to adapt to a growing and changing environment.
