- Provide administrative and operational research support to Professors and Research Fellows within Ngā Ara Whetū.
- Work closely with your Manager, Centre Directors and the wider administrative team.
- Support with finances in the form of purchasing and budgeting and be willing to develop your understanding of our financial systems.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and service teams to ensure a consistent high level of operations for the Research Centre.
- Assist the research team to organise events, book travel, collect relevant information and assist with approval processes.
- Produce accurate, well presented, and timely documents and presentations as directed.
- Maintain systems and databases and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Experience working with senior managers in an administrative role.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
- An advanced level of oral and written English Language communication skills (you will be able to take minutes, effective notes, and type quickly and accurately).
- The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a fulltime (37.5 hours per week), 10 months fixed-term Research Operations Coordinator to join our Faculty of Science Research Services team.You will be responsible for assisting with running the operational facilitation of the Ngā Ara Whetū University Research Centre including coordination and executive support to the Directors and researchers.
You will act as a conduit between the research centre and other people/organisations both within the University and externally and ensure centre processes and activities are managed as efficiently and consistently as possible.
Alongside your administrative team you will:
Remuneration: $58,000-$66,000 per annum dependent on experience.
