Job Description

- Liaise effectively with the local research network.
- Work collaboratively with the Lead GP for Research.
- Recruit and consent patients to clinical trials; gather relevant data and perform follow-up per trial protocols.
- Undertake required training for each research study.
- Support health promotion initiatives and encourage patient self-care.
- Travel to other research sites as needed.
- Contribute to the planning and logistics of research trials.
- Maintain familiarity with study protocols and their amendments.
- Ensure accurate and regulatory-compliant data entry into study documentation.
- Communicate effectively with participants, carers, and MDT's.
- Safeguard participant rights and welfare throughout study involvement.
- Support the safe administration of trial medications and treatments.
- Record and report adverse events to the Lead GP.
- Assist with participant recruitment, consent, follow-up, and data management.
- Conduct pre-study screening of participants.
- Manage the receipt, storage, and accountability of study medications under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
- Maintain secure storage of clinical supplies and ensure equipment functionality.
- With appropriate training, collect clinical samples for research purposes.
- Independently manage daily workload.
- Engage in CPD and role-specific training.
- Promote health education and self-care practices among patients.

Job summary
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Research Professional to support clinical research studies 22.5 hours per week at Pendle View Medical Practice. This role involves the coordination and delivery of research projects. The postholder will be based within the GP surgery but will also collaborate with members of the local research network.
