Position Summary:
The project coordinator will develop, implement and maintain the CIHR Team Grant for Lung Health Initiative.Location:
St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, Charlton Campus
Hours: Monday - Friday days, but some evening/weekend work may be requiredObjectives of this role:
•Build and develop the Team Grant project (9 academic centers across Canada, McMaster primary site) to ensure recruitment targets are met by providing direction and guidance.
•Establish and maintain relationships with relevant principal investigators, collaborators and research staff by providing day-to-day contact on project status and changes
•The project coordinator will also prepare and present updates regularly to principal investigators/collaborators to ensure the project needs are achieved.Responsibilities:
•Initiate, manage and communicate within our institution, other collaborating sites, patient support groups and knowledge translation/outreach partners.
•Contracts/agreements
•Budgets
•Research Ethics Board submissions/amendments/renewals
•Regulatory document preparation and submission
•Preparation and distribution of monthly newsletters
•Shipment of samples for biobanking
•Standard Operating Procedures for study conduct, diagnostic procedures and laboratory protocols
•Telemonitoring and database entryQualifications:
•BSc or equivalent (MSc preferable) with previous research (clinical/basic science) experience in medical discipline
•Flexible and positive professional attitude required
•Dependable and reliable with a good attendance record required
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills will facilitate interactions with the team, collaborators and research staff
•The ability to prioritize, negotiate, set and meet goals
