Design and implement tools, methods and strategies for genomic analyses
Improve data processing capabilities with novel tools and analytical methods for Genotyping and DNA-Seq data
Support life science researchers in interdisciplinary project teams in various disease areas with Bioinformatics and Data Analysis expertise
PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computational Biology, or any related discipline
Proficiency in working with bioinformatics methods and tools in the field of Genome-Wide-Association studies or a related topic
Experience with application of GWAS analyses for target or biomarker identification in an industry setting is a plus
Working experience with UKBB or other large-scale cohorts is a plus
Strong programming skills in either R or Python are required
Experience in working with Linux systems is expected
Experience with R/Shiny and data visualization is a plus
Fluency in English (written and spoken)

In the Global Bioinformatics team at Evotec more than 100 scientists with diverse backgrounds in biology, computer science, mathematics, and biomedicine work on the analysis and interpretation of omics data. Together with our colleagues in the wetlabs we develop and continuously improve our high throughput and high precision omics platforms. In drug discovery projects we work together with scientist from multiple other disciplines in a global organization of more than 5.000 employees across 15 sites. Our tasks include omics data handling and qc, method and software development, and the biological interpretation of analysis results. Our goal is to enable better decisions for medicines that matter.
To support our Bioinformatics team we are looking for a highly motivated
Research Scientist (all genders) - Bioinformatics
Full-time and permanent
Locations: Göttingen, Hamburg or Munich
with a keen interest in applying state-of-the-art GWAS methods and tools toward target id and drug discovery.
