      The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a Research Scientist to join its Biosciences Division.

      The Research Scientist will lead and conduct research focused on heparan sulfate and its role in bone remodeling and related cellular and molecular mechanisms.

      Responsibilities include

      • Designing and performing advanced experiments, analyzing data, and developing innovative techniques for studying heparan sulfate in the context of bone health.

      • Developing pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) models to describe the ADME (absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion) of novel antibodies. Designing and implementing quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) models to investigate the therapeutic mechanisms of new antibodies in osteoporosis.

      • Publishing research findings in high-impact scientific journals, presenting results at national and international conferences, and contributing actively to the scientific community.

      • Developing, submitting grant proposals and securing external funding for research projects.

      • Setting research priorities, mentoring students and junior researchers, and planning research programs within the department.

      Additional Requirements

      • Successful completion of a background check.

      • Selected candidates may be required to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.

      Schedule

      Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
      Occasional requirement for evening or weekend work as experiments require.

      Required Experience and Education

      • Doctoral degree in biological sciences, biomedical sciences, pharmacology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in animal handling, cell culture, and protein expression.

      • Expertise in advanced research techniques related to heparan sulfate and cellular/molecular biology.

      • Experience in quantitative systems pharmacology (QSP) modeling and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modeling is required.

      • Proven track record of research excellence, evidenced by a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
